A Great Recipe!

This recipe is something that is so simple and easy, and yet so yummy! It utilizes the yummy goodness of cheese! It is a favorite out in Northwest Iowa, and this recipe is courtesy of my Aunt B.

CHEESE SPREAD:

INGREDIENTS:
1 Lb. Velveeta Cheese
1 Can (13 oz) Evaporated Milk
1 Egg; slightly beaten
12-14 Slices Dried Beef; cut into small pieces

Melt the cheese in a double boiler or heavy sauce pan with the evaporated milk. Once melted add the egg and the cut up beef. Cool and then store in the fridge before serving. Serve on rolls open-faced.

I hope that you will try this recipe!!!

  1. This recipe is best on the Rusk Buns from Casey's Bakery in Sioux Center IA. These are soft and the same size as Dutch Rusk which are their toasted version. If interested in getting them in GR, you might go to VanderVeens and ask if they could also get them from Casey's since they do get their almond patties from Sioux Center-we have suggested it but no luck so far, maybe numbers would encourage them to stock them!
